General Information |
Difficult isn't it? Writing about yourself. Easy to be trite
and formulaic. So, I can say: easy-going, caring, happy,
lover of live theatre and music, food, wine, interesting
conversations.
Some of that is true - I do love live
theatre and I love live music (except cover bands, really -
although they can be good for dancing). I do love food, wine
and interesting conversations.... but I'll add a qualifier
further down.
Easy-going? Yes, pretty much - it takes a
lot to press my buttons and I'll go along with most things.
However, there are some things I won't go along with.
Racism, sexism, ageism, sizeism - any form of
discrimination/bullying/harassment due to people being who
they are. We all judge - we can't help it. But if people
realised that their judgement of another is just their
subjective opinion based on their conditioning and beliefs,
they might keep their counsel and keep their mouths shut and
their judgments to themselves and save a lot of
grief.
Happy? Yes, again, pretty much most of the time. I
live a fabulous privileged life and have found that the
trick really is to count your blessings - of which there are
a multitude - silver-lining-living is a far more joyful
place to be than focusing on the negative. Not always easy,
but it becomes easier (because it feels so much better) the
more it's done.
Caring? Mmm. Yes. Yes, I am. But I'm also
an introvert, so I may come across as shy, or reserved, or
reticent. But I'm not and I'm certainly not to those who
know me well. I want people to be happy - not superficially,
ha-ha-ha, what-fun, happy. But to feel listened to and cared
about and accepted and valued.
The qualifier to loving
interesting conversations is that I think more than I talk.
Which means that I only flourish in conversation with
someone who wants to hear what I have to say and who
indicates that, who listens. Really listens. There aren't
many who do that. On the flip side, I love listening to
people, everyone has something fascinating about them and
it's like finding a jewel when they reveal what it
is.
This self-summary is not representative of me at all,
because it will change depending on whom I'm with and their
perception of me and their conditioning etc. It will also
change dependent on my mood, day, season, whatever. So
reader, beware.....
I have an allotment - I love to see
things grow, it's real magic.
Apart from that I have no
idea what is going on - it all just seems to be some kind of
bizarre improvisation.
Im really good a being me....it
turns out that I've got that cornered.
Also, listening,
caring, laughing, enjoying each experience - whatever it
is.
Pretending I know what I'm doing (I seem to pull it
off most of the time, just don't pull that curtain back too
far...)
Favorite books, movies etc -
Books - Replay,
anything by Jed McKenna, Perfume, and lots of others,
although I don't really read much these days - I seem to be
all-read-out for the time-being.
Movies - Arthur (always
makes me laugh!), Lucy (very violent but a great film), and
many more, the names of which I've forgotten.
Theatre -
anything, basically..... love going to the theatre - have
recently seen Consent, Ugly lies the bone, Common, and am
going to see The Girls next week. I love small intimate
performances as well as big, bold, whack-you-in-the-face
shows. I love the alchemy of live theatre.
Music - I
recently saw Rag'n'BoneMan, The Sugar Hill Gang, so my
tastes are varied, non-specific and dependent on all sorts
of things.
I love live performance - people getting up
there and giving it a go, and I go to a lot of local gigs -
to see people I've never heard of as well as friends and
family who play and sing.
Food - yes, I love it! Except
olives (wished I did because people that do seem to really
enjoy them), anchovies, capers, squid, pappy beige
food.
Six things I could never do without are passion,
laughing, conversation, strong sweet tea, food. (Ha, that's
7!) and wine. Although I could actually do without any of
those (apart from food), but I don't want to.
I spend a lot
of time thinking about the next fun thing to do, ideas, how
beautiful the world is most of the time, why I can enjoy my
own company so much but be so lonely at times. How amazing
the impermanence of it all is. How strange it is to be
trying to write an accurate portrayal of myself, because I
experience a different perspective to everyone else, so who
I am is dependent on you - and that's a whole other
rabbit-hole!
Oh, and one final thing... if you just want
to play games, only want sex - forget it. I have more
self-respect than that and I don't tolerate game-players - 3
words come to mind - stick, pipe, smoke! |

Appearance |
I'm average height, size 18/20, longish hair. I think my
best feature is my eyes and I like to dress casually. |

Looking for |
I'm looking for an equal relationship. I separated at the
beginning of the year after a +30 year relationship. I
don't want to look after anyone, but want to have fun,
laugh, enjoy life. That doesn't mean that I'm not
supportive and caring just that it's our time...
